Mechanical Contractors Join Forces to Help Build the Region

Established in 1919, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. (MCA) represents more than 31 independent contractors who are committed to providing outstanding piping, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and ventilation services in Western Pennsylvania. Affiliated with Steamfitters Local Union #449, Plumbers Local Union #27, and the Laborers’ District Council of Western Pennsylvania, members of the MCA work with other industry contractors to build and renovate single or multistory facilities that can range from thousands to millions of dollars.

“Our contractors are among the most skilled HVAC, plumbing and service contractors in the nation and have the ability to do complete design and build projects for developers and owers,” said MCA Executive Director Rege Claus. “By jointly working with Steamfitters Local 449, Plumbers Local 27, and the Laborers’ District Council, we help employ locally trained and skilled workers who are among the best at their craft.”

“We recognize the value in investing in local workers and in sustaining a pool of skilled workers who stand ready to fill the building needs of any developer or owner. No job is too large or small for our contractors, all of whom are committed to safety and customer service.”

Among the multitude of projects which members of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. have worked on include PNC Park, Heinz Field, the David L.

Lawrence Convention Center, Children’s Hospital and countless other major projects in Western Pennsylvania. Many MCA contractors have been in business for more than 50 years, with their owners and other principles born and raised in Western Pennsylvania.

“With a history of living and working in this area, our contractors take pride in their work and in delivering a finished product that reflects well on their company and on the region,” Mr. Claus said. “Our contractors earn their reputation and are not afraid to put it on the line in every job they undertake.”
